Anyone have experience with this scope??? Possibly picking one up tomorrow. Going to install it on my r700 ltr .308 and might use it on my ebr, so what rings should I get??? Looking for a quick release mount.
I have had a Viper PST 1-4 with the MOA reticle and so far, I love it. The cross hairs are a little had to see in low light but the illumination negates that factor. I too am interested in the higher power ones like the PST 2.5-10 so please let us know what you think about the 4x16HS.
What I really want is a Leupold Mark 4 2.5-8 MRT with M2 knobs and the illuminated TMR reticle.....but...it is only about twice the cost. I should probably just save for it anyway.
I know just what you mean. I guess they say that patience is a virtue right? I hope I can hold off till I can save up for one too. I just mounted a VX3 on my M25 in the hopes that it will satisfy my needs for a scope till I get the cash for a nice one.
Mine is the 50 mm version and I am very happy with it. For the money it is hard to beat. The eye relief is great for an M1a and it did well on mine. I just switched it to my 10/22 however...
I had medium Blackhawk tactical rings on my EMR with the SAI Gen 4 mount. You could probably use low rings with the 44mm objective. The rings were fine but if you can afford it get some Badger Ordinance or similar rings. I have always had good luck with the Burris X-treme rings.

It would be nice if i can fit the scope on there with low rings, cause im not sure which rifle (R700 LTR or EBR) i want it on yet.
Im just afraid with the low rings the area where turn to change the power of the scope hits the iron sight.
The rings im trying to choose between is the Larue LT123 Mounts and the ARMS #22 throw levers.
Almost leaning twords the ARMS because of the price but i have experience with LArues mounts and own a few, i also like that the Larue mount is return to zero feat too.. They both have cut outs in the lower ring areas i wonder if you can use them as peep holes for the irons sights
I have this scope on my M1a National Match and love it. The open dial on the top is perfect. The lifetime warranty is amazing that Vortex offers. I love these scopes. I have a Springfield Armory Gen II scope that I keep in the safe for my national match rifle because it is in such pristine shape, I want to keep it that way. The Vortex Viper goes with me on the ranch for hinting trips. I am pretty sure this brand optics is gaining a name for itself in the market.
