I see alot of 10/22 fans, would never knock them but here's the guy I grew up with!
-17 round tube
-auto-open on last shot
-tech sights give a M1a style peep view.
-optional cheap winchester bipod
I bought one of the 8-15round tube holders that allow quick tube reloading Awesome buy. love it! Never had an issue with this guy! Yes the one you posted.
Great rifles. The only weakness I've found is the nylon block in the action, it will eventually crack. They are accurate and have a great feel when you shoulder them. I especially like the little Glenfield 75 carbine version.

The 75 is sweet. I got one many years ago, but converted it into a mag fed bullpup. IfI ever figure out how to post pics, I will put one up. Donw side of mine is you can no longer use the iron sights. Did the conversion in 91. Made quite a few for a local pawn shop.
Dry graphite lube normally used for locks I think. Use instead of any lubricant, it decreases powder fouling. Mine just really started running alot smoother. I dont know how it compares to oil as far as the longevity of the action though.
The Model 60 has been around forever in one form or another. A problem in older guns that have been shot a lot is the feed ramp. The feed ramp is made out of chrome plated pot metal and will eventually wear out causing failure to feed properly. Replacement parts are cheap enough, but changing it out requires pulling apart the trigger housing. Almost a impossibility with out having a gazillion parts flying around. Just a heads up for those that use them. dozier
got one a little while ago. love how it feels and that there are no magazines to keep track of.
haven't shot it yet. i disassembled it to give it a clean. when i went to reassemble it, somehow i really bent the long spring that fits behind the bolt. i was not happy. new spring coming soon. maybe a couple just in case.
I bought one last year with a carbon fiber stock. Took out a pesky rabbit in my sister's vegetable garden. The tinkling of .22 shells on her kitchen floor made it all worth it.
What I like about the 60 is it fits me. I bought a deluxe 10-22 sporter when I was 17. I figured I wouldn't scope it so it would be a little quicker than everything else I had scoped. Well the 10-22 I cannot get my head low enough get proper sight alignment. So it is scoped also. Because of that, I still carry the 60 because I like it better. I shot a lot of rounds through that gun. Having one of those tube speed loaders they have today, back when and I wouldn't have never bought the 10-22.
My wife bought an older stainless model several years ago. She really likes it. Hers loves to be clean. She can shoot several hundred rounds with no fouling. But...the once she cleaned only the barrel....it jammed frequently the next range trip. Back to cleaning the action and no issues.
My 10/22 and her Model 60 have the same scopes. The 10-22 is a bit more accurate.
We would recommend either.
The mod.60 was the first rifle I bought with my own money at 16 in "78". I think i gave a wopping 70 or 80 bucks for it.They are a really good shooter once you got past the trigger. I killed a truck load of squirrels with it over the years, really fun when they were on the move. After I moved to Pa. From Ohio I couldn't use it anymore, can't hunt with a semi automatic in this state so I passed it off to my nephew in Ohio last year. He put it back in service chasing squirrels and is likening it to. Dan
It was the first non-bb gun I fired. It's my dads that he got used in the 70's? They are fine shooters and are accurate. Dad considers it mine now. It can be a bit picky on ammo but as long as you feed her what she likes she will run all day.
i ordered several recoil springs to replace the one i bent- just in case they kept bending as i try to reinstall the bolt and innards.
i finally got the spring and guide and bolt in. that is a tough job to do, doing it on the marlin for the 1st time. i probably won't take the bolt out again just on a whim hahaha.
anyhow, can't wait to get her out and go find a nice den of squirrels! yeah!
