Looks like they picked up quite a haul of guns and weapons around Spain recently .
Thousands of rifles , including a lot of Spanish Mausers & Cetmes ,
even a few rare model A's and B's and the 5.56 Cetme -L's
A seldom seen Spanish CB52 assault rifle prototype , some of this stuff really should be in a museum..

The very 1st part of the video that's part of the post below is in Spanish so if that annoys you,
just fast forward to 1:30 to see how big this haul really is...

I never knew the Spanish Mauser to be the weapon of choice for terrorist

Awh, they just found one of Century Arms warehouses. Seriously though, some of that stuff looks like it was in a collection already or belonged in a museum.

Wonder how much of it was heading toward terrorist organizations?

Actually 10,000 firearms is not a large amount if a revolution is planned, but would serve well for those sneaky terrorists distributed throughout Spain, France, etc., etc. Keep in mind that any nation that still holds with a King/Queen as head of the nation is likely to experience an upheaval by the populace in their future and Northern Spain has been struggling with the government for decades, who knows? Spain has been a conduit for Islamic armies since the 700's attempting to overtake rest of Europe, especially France.
Battle of Tours in 732 stopped the major influx of Islamic armies and it is said that if that had not occurred we in Europe and the West would be speaking Arabic today. Old saying that "in 732 at the Battle of Tours, Charles Martell defeated the Moors..."

But these weapons might indeed today be for the Basques...a conflict going back nearly as long. In 778 the Basques at the Battle of Roncevaux Pass attacked Charlemagne's (grandson of Charles Martell) army lead by the legendary Roland and his equally qualified fellow paladin-Oliver.

Hence the saying "a Roland for an Oliver" meaning:

An exchange, especially in battle, in which that which is given is equal in measure and might to that which is received. Named for the two legendary medieval knights Roland and Oliver, who fought for the emperor Charlemagne. Their feats and powers were so equally matched that they were considered to be equal measures of military prowess.

Obscure, I know, but idioms are often rooted in very interesting history! That often comes back around.

I heard it was actually a company that sold demilled firearms. Unfortunately they were demilled to the old specs and in order to convert them to the new specs it would cost way more than the firearms were worth. Basically demill again send to gov't proof house then pay a tax. It is amazing the demills you find in europe. I was in Normandy for a D-Day anniversary and they were everywhere.
