Hello from Upstate NY

Been a lurker for some time now, figured I would join. I am a retired LEO and also a dealer for many years, I have a love of US military rifles as well as Colts and Winchesters. I was at a flea market this past Saturday looking for anything military related when a stock caught my eye, upon inspecting the stock noticed it was a M14 stock in like new condition, had to have it! $35.00 later was walking around with the butt sticking out of my backpack, needless to say received quite a few second looks and some comments from some old service members inquiring about it.. Sooooo here I am with the first part of my rifle. I had a M1A loaded many years ago but sold it to fund other items. Here are a few pics of he stock.

Sharp move there. Now put good parts into it. Are you looking for a SOCOM, Scout, or full boat M14? Let us know how things are going.

Cheers (except when behind the wheel)

Now you have to fill that wood with steel. Build on a Bowen Armory or Bula Defense receiver and go from there for excessive fun.

Welcome from SE GA.

First, thank you for your military and LE service.

That is a real nice looking stock. There are some real stock refinishing experts on this forum including M1Army and Doug Carlton that can give you solid advice on cleaning up your stock.

Look under the buttplate and see if they're any letters or marks. These indicate what manufacturer made the stock.

Acquiring quality USGI parts for your build is loads of fun. Be sure to check out the B.A.R. receiver thread to take advantage of a possible group buy at a great price.

Thanks from Pappy1600
