A long journey.....to, the M1A....!

Hello, Gents:

{And, of course, any ladies here....!

Been shootin' since the 60s, been 'in and out of' a number of ARs, 10 & 15 type...FN/FAL para, Hk 91 & 93, etc. & etc. BUT, now find what feels like
HOME....with, yes, 'Merican steel(AFAIK), even in the, gasp....receiver...!!

Alright, not the 'classic' version, but...a SOCOM II...still an M1A at-heart.

Quick, hour-burnin', late-nights learning curve....and, would appreciate input as to what mods are meaningful for dependability and performance. No match-grade horsepower needed, but.... I like reliability, and under-duress functionality-enhancing mods, etc.

- Sounds like a round spring-guide rod is in-order...? Sadlak? {Is the Bula
version full-round?

- Do I 'need' an upgrade gas piston, plug..?

- Upgrade op rod ?

- Adjustable-trigger assy. options...?

- Tritium front sight options.? (I though I had read that these come with
one...but, this did not.) - DO, also, seek a finer/thinner post...

- Of course, researching and considerin' scopes, mounts,

**Are there any mechanical/operational components on the SOCOMs that
are not standard?

Well....I feel like an advanced-degree black belt....switching styles, and having to start over, as a white belt....!!! {Actually, I once did almost that;
the prior experience did help.....

Be kind, gents....the M1A is a new kinda animal, on my farm....

Appreciate the Forum; what I'm sure is a good buncha gents, and like-minded
folk...

- Steve

Welcome aboard!

Shoot it before replacing parts. It may be accurate out of the box. JMHO.
