New member here, finally bought one

Hey guys just joined up after finally buying a M1A loaded a few months ago. I've got 400 or so rounds through it and I'm quite pleased. Not sure what all my plans are for it but I'm going to start with a USGI walnut stock and a larger rear sight aperture. Then a scope, does anyone know what kind of scout mount options there are for this rifle?

Welcome from Pennsylvania.

There are lots of scope mount choices -- Bassett, Sadlak, SAI, and ARMS, just to name a few. Browse the forums and you'll find plenty of reviews, opinions, and options. Good luck!

If you do the scout type setup, I would assume the SA barrel clamp mount is the steadiest. You will compromise the accuracy of the loaded with a scout type barrel mount.

Well I just picked up a refinished USGI stock in the PX... Thanks Evilgrin! And ordered a ghost ring rear aperture from Numrich gun parts. Hmmm, How much an effect would would the SA mount have on accuracy? Also would work with the Loaded's Med/Heavy barrel?

Welcome from SD. 400 rounds thru her with irons, do you need a scope for eyes? If so, go with the reciever mount rather than the scout mount on a loaded. I've got a scout squad with a scout scope on it and the best that I can get with taylored loads is 2MOA. True it is only a 2.5x scope but you paid extra for the loaded, I think if it were me I'd use the stabler reciever mount. When I can get the coin together, I plan on getting a loaded-you can't get just one, you do know that don't you??

Welcome to the forum! I'm currently using the sadlak airborne mount, I hear that Bassett also makes a good mount.
