I stumbled on this site after finding out about a death of a colleague. I served in the Marines from 91-99. Finished up teaching CQB to Marines and LEO's while working at the Marine Corps Security Forces Training Center in Chesapeake VA. Before that I was the Chief Instructor for USMC Designated Marksman School in Dam Neck VA. Marine's at DM school use a modified M14 - nice gun. I've been trained by GySgt Hathcock, attended FBI Sniper school, and a graduate of Bill Rogers Tactical Shooting School. So, I'm well versed in pistol, rifle, shotgun and subguns. I currently work at a Maritime College in the US where one of my jobs is the Men's and Women's Rifle Team Coach.
I'm a moderator over at leatherneckDOTcom (same screenname)if any of you leathernecks are looking to chat with some other Jarheads.
The lost art of research has not been missed place yet....
Welcome aboard thewookie, pull up an old ammunition crate and sit awhile. This here Gun Board is a great place for information on our beloved M14 Battlerifle and military surplus ammunition for her. Again welcome aboard and have yourself a great week. Thank you for your service to our country, America is better off because of you.
Thank you for the warm welcome, looks like there are plenty of Marines here. I don't own a M-14, but I like some of the threads I've seen so far -- so I'll lurk and chime in from time to time if I think I know something :) I think that's an oxymoron - me thinking I know something ;)
