Welcome to the forum! Just look around and you will find a lot of great rifles, a lot of different styles. You may even get a brain freeze from all the great stuff you will find. Enjoy!

I recently built my first m14 - all USGI parts kit, NOS pull off barrel and a Fulton armory receiver. It is quite an undertaking but definitely doable.

The absolute best advice I can give is to get copies of 'The U.S. .30 Caliber Gas Operated Service Rifles A Shop Manual Volumes I & II' by Jerry Kuhnhausen and 'The M14 Complete Assembly Guide' by Walt Kuleck and Clint Mckee.

I read these cover to cover about 5 times a piece before I built mine - they will give you a good base and then ask questions here to fill in the gaps.

Cost wise there are some specialized tools you will need but if you build more than one m14 it'll be worth the investment - besides things like a barrel vice can be used for numerous types of rifles

If you have the opportunity of a near by m14 smith to walk you through your first build - definitely take advantage of it!

Thanks from adrbe

Anything you need to know about your build can be found here, along with some needed parts possibly over at the PX. Best of luck!

Thanks guys! Yeah it's definitely a lot to take in! Im just a young buck ( a ripe old 17 years old! ) and I just need to get pointed in the right track! But I'm serious about building me one of these. I've always loved em, if it says anything one day I got so bored a pulled out the old box of legos and build me an m14 out of legos. If that dont say anything I don't know what does! Lol I'll even post pictures if anybody would like to see it!
