| Greeting from Cologne, Germany
Hi all,
I have been reading the forum since November, but a long time fan of the M14 long before.
Due to the fact, that those rifles had some export restrictions, it has been unbelievable difficult to get one over to Germany - the ones, which are here are damn expensive (and I wanted a new one).
I managed to score one today, along with a Glock 21 (yes, I also have a 1911 from SA, don't start that here ), which I put in a Hera Arms Triarii stock, along with some mods.
Also picked up a couple rounds of Prvi white box, some Hornady A-Max Zombie Hunter variety and some Remington Match stuff to check, which ammo my darling likes.
Tomorrow is range-day for the Glock, saturday for darling
I'll keep you posted, how things are running.
To get started at this forum, I think it is polite to post a couple pictures; I enjoy being in this little community and look forward to reading some more stuff on my beloved rifle.
Greetings from Cologne,
Oliver

Welcome on board ersterderfaellt, as you know. This is a great site for info on our beloved M14 rifle. Enjoy and keep on posting. Thanks for the pictures to start with and the Hornady Z-Max 168 grain ammunition is great and very accurate. |

Thanks for the welcoming. The Dom hasn't changed much, the city though constantly devoloping. The Rheinauhafen (harbor) got some major work done.

Welcome to the forum!
I saw the Rolling Stones in Cologne in 1982! We had broken down a 4th of July party when no one showed up and headed for the rumored Stones concert. The night prior we partied with an Irish tour group in a tiny bar at the base of the Dom. They were buying us rounds so to reciprocate we invited them to the trunk of my '75 Ford LTD. Inside were the non perishable provisions for a 4th of July party for about 20 people. We scalped tickets the next day at face value and were five feet from the stage in the mosh pit!
On another occasion I rode my bicycle from Butzbach to Cologne and back in two and 1/2 days. My local bike shop in Butzbach was surprised to see the Cologne city seal on my down tube a few days after my return. All for the cause of lighting up as many Russians as possible. Good Times!
I like your workbench!

Great story, though I go with :)
But Stones live must have been quite a party!
Right, 180km on a bike, holy moly - but the poor russians :)
What kind of Kölsch, ZOG's? I'd go with Reissdorf.

ZOG, don't get me wrong, Päffgen is also a great private brewery, it just comes down to personal preference. Just like blondes or brunettes.
Yeah Wolf, but additionally, a private one has also opened, just beside the military one. Only problem is, they do not have a rope system installed, so a lot of walking is involved. I usually shoot in Siegburg. Here is a link to the private one: http://ssc-magnum-solingen.de/index.php?menuid=16 |

Welcome to the forum from NorCal. I am looking forward to seeing a range report and how you like the rifle after some time on trigger. Congratulations on both new firearms.
