Newb from Washington State

Just picked up and older Springfield M1A and it looks like this is the place to be. This is a really great site and I have learned a lot already.

Welcome to the forum. This is definitely the place to be. How much " older" is your m1a?

Happy shooting

Thanks for the welcome

I'm not sure, born on dates seem hard to come by.
The serial number is 0043xx so I would guess around 1976.

Welcome aboard form the wet side. That serial number sounds like about early 76 maybe even late 75. Have you checked out Different's serial numbers in the reference section?
Do you see a Geneseo on the bottom of the barrel near the gas cylinder?

Lucky you! Washington State is gun friendly! Even the communists here like guns. Of course not as free as Alaska.

Welcome aboard! What part of the state are you in? We have wet side shoots several times a year.

We shoot at the Cascade Rifle and Pistol range in Ravensdale but are always open to try out new ranges. Here's a link to the subforum where our meet info is posted:
