Females on Tridents

I think we'll see female nuclear power officers then female nuclear power enlisted on Tridents first. But before that happens, OPNAV will have to set up a career path for them. It can't be a one time tour. They will have to be allowed to achieve Command positions for officers and senior enlisted positions for the enlisted females. Otherwise it's just a publicity stunt.

Glad I won't be there for the "growing pains".

Pig boat = Navy vessle designed to operate according to the formula:

Success = # of surfacings > or = # submerges

I'm just guessing here, sardo67 and 9th, but I think Chilly is trying to tell you it's a submarine.

Pig boat is a old term used to discribe "Diesel" Submarines, the air was rare and often rank.

Thumbs up chicks in a tube?

Uss Cutlass, 478, diesel boat, 78 crew and officers, 1964
out of D&S piers 22, Norfolk Va.I was a green A school graduate out of New London striking for torpedoman when "Doc" on board talked up corpsman school. I went, my whole class volunteered for 8404 (field medical technician - USMC)
Got a southeast asian "vacation" out of that .
Girls on board the "new" boats, NAH! 6 months on, 6 months off. 12 hour shifts, lots of "hiddy holes" everywhere on them "BIG" boats. there's always a "torpedo" looking for "torpedo tube" and even "ugly" sailors get lucky now and then.

"Doc" Kieffer, USN/USMC
