In 1975 I was first a member of the Great Lakes Service School Comamnd Drill Team. Then POIC in the mid eighties. We used 03-A3 Springfields with bayonets fixed. It's much easier to spin the rifle with the bayonet than without. Our best performance was in Dixon IL marching in front of President Reagan. I got to give him a hand salute. I miss those performances.
