I was an Aviation Electricians Mate in VA-15 from 1975-1977.

Also spent a few months training in VA-174 when McCain was the XO.

We were based out of NAS Cecil Field, Jacksonville, FL.

We flew the A-7E Corsair II.

I worked in AIMD on the ASN-91Inertial Measurement System.

Made 3 Med cruises and had lots of good times.

I was a AT2. Worked the flight deck with VA146 and became an aircrewman with VR46 at NAS Atlanta.

Re: Airdales

I was an AQ from 1967-71 stationed at NAS Oceana, VA. Worked on Grumman A6 Intruders in VA- 42 and later VA-34. Started out on line maintenance and ended up in AIMD fixing the black boxes. Made one Med. cruise in VA-34 on the JFK and worked on the AN/APQ-92 Search/Track/ Terrain Clearance radar suite. Loved the work but left after my enlistment was up. Made PO2 as fast as possible but did not like the delegating work part as much as doing the work myself.
