Whoa!.. how did I not catch this thread earlier?

Looks like Navy is well represented. Well, here is another one. But I am so unique. Did three months of rugged boot camp during the Summer of 1966 at Sand Point Naval Air Station, Seattle, Washington. I was just seventeen years old, youngest guy in camp and smartest. When the Summer of '66 mandatory fun & games were finished I returned to high school for my senior year, then off to active duty. How did this happen to me? Well, you would have to ask Commander Dad, because I had no clue. Was it something I said?

Oh yea, I had a very intimate relationship with my M1 Garand. We went everywhere together.

Great Lakes Summer of 1996, Division 359.
ICC Wright, AG1 Royal, and AMCS "Always Serious" Anacerious were the RDCs. I actually liked my drill instructors, they were tough but fair and good leaders. I learned a lot from each of them.
