FFG- guided missile frigate... are those the turbine powered hot rods I used to see pulling wheelies when they nailed the throttle on their way out of San Diego Bay?

DD-698 USS Ault served 2 weeks on a summer cruise in 1972, best duty a kid at 16yrs old could have had after watching all those Victory at Sea movies in my NJROTC classes. Then in the Marine Corps I pulled a West Pac and Med cruise aboard the ships, USS Denver, USS Guam, USS Trenton, and always assigned to Master-at Arms duty.

Shellback USS Guam 1976

USS Denver when it caught fire in 75-76

USS Guam when 50+ Sailors and Marines were drowned or killed in Barcelona, Spain by Freighter that ran over and capsized a overloaded Mike boat.

Thanks from SteedGun
