Sea Explorer is a part of the Boy Scouts of America off hand I do not remember but they started in the 1920s and are still around today. It ranking is the same as scouts bit with navy proper names . Insignia on the older uniforms looked like usnavy.
These included Ship medallion, Standard unit rating, Emergency service rating, Service stars Badge of rank, Community strip, Ship numbers, Badge of office, Long cruise.
The "ribbons " that look like campaign, good conduct ribbons are basically the same as merit badges. Some seamanship related some citizenship related and others the same as other merit badges. I see now on the modern sea explorer uniform I see knots strips which are a different award system in scouting I am not sure how that works because knots were an adult award system when I was a Scoutmaster. The knots look a lot like ribbons too at distance.
