Check out:

togetherweserved.com

They have boards for other branches as well, but all that really matter is the navy board.

My favorite would be http://www.navsource.org/ where you can find a photo of just about any US Navy ship you want to see.

Haze Grey is another good one but not as complete a collection of photos. http://www.hazegray.org/

For official US Navy photos, take a peak at the Naval Historical Center http://www.history.navy.mil/branches/org11-2.htm

Haven't gotten here, yet. But this is as representative as you can get of life aboard a nuke attack boat.

Yep a great website and the only "B" Girl remaining.. All three were homeport at Pearl Harbor when I was stationed there in the early 70's...

I've visited her twice; the last time was this past October... I'll post a few pictures later... basically a SKIPJACK Class with diesel-electric propulsion.

http://www.navsource.org/archives/08/08581.htm

It is well worth the trip to see her if you live in the PacNW.

We were in and out of Subic Bay many times between Nov 62 and Feb 66 when I finally got home from my third Westpac to the Tonkin Gulf. I wouldn't take anything for the memories but sure wouldn't want to go back through them at this age.

Does anybody else remember the Paladium Club in Olongapo City and the Monkey meat stand on the left side of the street just before you got to the bridge that crossed over shit river on the way back to the base? We'd stop there and get us some Monkey meat to eat while waiting our our Mike boat at the fleet landing that would take us back to our ammo ship anchored way the hell out in the harbour.

This was in case we blew up we wouldn't take the town with us like our sister ship, the USS Mount Hood AE-11 who blew up in 1944 during the war in the Admiralty Islands with the loss of all hands... Except for a boat coxswain, a shore patrolman taking a prisoner to the beach for incarceration in the brig, the prisoner and the mail clerk who was making a mail run to the beach.

They treated us like a bunch of lepers everywhere we went they'd make us anchor way the hell out in the harbour for the same reasons. The only time we could tie up to a pier was at our home port of Port Chicago naval ammunition depot.

Look what I just found... http://www.subicbaypi.com/subic_barlist_olongapo.htm

Thumbs up WestPac related....

Sadly all of my time in Pacific Fleet Submarine Service was all Guam Sea Buoy to Guam Sea Buoy..

But go to the link here below… which you’ll get if you search on Bing.com (Olongapo bar girls)..

http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=...FORM=IGRE#x0y0

I must make note (proudly) of the second picture which comes up… Several BT’s from the U.S.S. RAMSEY (DEG-2), once again proving that “Snipes Rule”…. Also if you look farther down on the images you'll see a Navy Achievement Medal (NAM)… Which is kinda humorous I think…. I feel bad about two things missing from my time in the Navy…. I never did a WestPac and am still a lowly Pollywog….

I use this website to track the ship I work on when I am on land. It uses the AIS system and will show you a map and sometimes pictures and information about the particular vessel. I don't think it tracks military vessels though. If you want to see where my home 6 months out of the year is search for Oceanic Challenger. She is Norwegian flagged.
