Battleship Movie

Finally, a modern Navy movie.

Remember the game Battleship? "I9" "You sank my battleship!"

Well, now it's going to be a movie and it looks pretty good. It's got aliens in it too.

I saw the trailer for this today. Whether the movie ends up being worth a damn or not, I can't help but shake my head at how Hollywood has to resort to remaking old movies or getting ideas from board games. I hear Ridley Scott is directing Monopoly the movie, and no, I'm not joking.

Thanks from kmcintosh78

Yeah, . . . but remember how good they did with "Independance Day"?

This probably won't be as good, . . . but I did enjoy that one.

May God bless,
Dwight

Battleship related…

I’m not a huge fan of anything virtual and or gamey…
If it ain’t real, it ain’t, so I have posted a link for all to see. It is no movie, but a 1950’s era Navy training film which all of you, who (may) like me really appreciate the bygone age of the “Black Shoe” Battleship Navy. Check it out…
Well worth book marking…….

IC2(SS)19Z50C5 Great video!

I look at the machining of the breach of that 16 inch gun and the care of wiping it down each time is impressive.
Not being exposed to navy guns, going or receiving, I was interested how the big guns worked.

My wife's grandfather was on the maiden voyage of the California. Apparently he was a photobug. One of his pics is of himself inside the breech of a cannon. Enormous piece.
