I want to start off by saying I am new to the forum as you can tell and also new to the M!A/M14 owners group. My first gun is a 1939 Tula Mosin Nagant (love that thing). I am currently in Virginia and cannot wait for my M1A to arrive.
I just recently purchased an M1A/M14 (currently awaiting for it to arrive). Just had a few questions about the JAE-100 G3. Are you guys buying direct from vendor or you going through another site? Also, does anyone know how the JAE-100 compare to the Archangel?

I bought both mine directly from JAE, Lisa is a lot of help when you have to decide on colors and options.
As for the difference between the Archangel and the JAE; I can't say much since I've never had my hands on the Archangel other than one I looked at while at a gun show. There is a post on this forum where the owner of an Archangel discusses how he had to make adjustments to the stock to get it to fit well (he used a file mostly). In addition, the biggest difference that I know of is that the JAE has an aluminium skeleton that makes the stock stiff and resistant to dimensional changes under varying weather conditions (an important consideration for me since temps and humidity will change drastically where I live).
I am biased and I do believe that while the Archangel is a nice option if you can't afford the JAE stock it just isn't of the same quality. I spent a year paying my last JAE off.

That is what I am looking into doing as well. I asked a quote for my build from one site but they havent responded yet so I think I am going to do it straight from JAE.
I had a feeling about the Archangle. Another thing that was making second guess it, is the fact you dont have quite the color options as you would with the JAE. Of course you could always duracote it or something but that would most likely cause more waiting when it comes to finalizing the build. Plus it doesnt seem to have the same options as the JAE does. Looks limited alround whether you want to get all the options at once or add them on later.

Also, does anyone know how the JAE-100 compare to the Archangel? | The JAE is a precision rifle CHASSIS SYSTEM built around a full length aluminum skeleton. It has a lug system that pulls the receiver down firmly against the skeleton so that you do not need to glass bed the rifle. I have seen it cut groups in half, =even with the simple stock without all the bells and whistles.
The Archangel is a molded plastic stock that shares many appearance cues with the JAE, but it was not designed to increase the rifle's performance. Mainly it is a cheap way to get a cheekpiece stock for scope use.* No comparison.
* which, by the way, is enough reason to buy an Archangel if you only have $300 to spend on a stock and want to use a scope.

here is a G1 i found brand new old stock for $600 plus shipping fully loaded in titanium grey sold it yesterday in a couple hours and now im getting a G2 olive drab, my new G3 coming in next month is also titanium grey thats why i sold the G1

The only thing that I would change on mine is swapping out the swat black rest and grip for OD or tan.

I have a question concerning the picatinny rails for the JAE-100 owners. Can any standard picatinny fit on the rail adapters that go on the bottom and the side of the stock or you limited to what JAE offers in their accessories?

Mine needs to hurry up and get here. I've had every other part of the rifle waiting for six months... except the stock.
Tick tock... tick tock...

When you guys ordered the JAE, did you pay for it up front, or do you pay when it is ready like McCann does it? Since I'm not the richest guy in the world, I may keep an eye out for a used Gen 1 or 2 that already has the bells and whistles on it. Anyone got an old one they want to sell? :P
