Mk 14 Mod 0 - Stock Weight's (SAGE -&- TROY MCS)

Hello All, I'm absolutely in LOVE with the Mk14 Mod 0
(& Mod 1) configuration, but feel as so many of us feel, it's just much heavier than I'd like it to be. Which stock unit would give me the most weight reduction, the SAGE (primarily the "Chop Mod" version if available commercially) -or- the TROY MCS ? At the moment, I don't plan on adding much to the weapon, except perhaps a Insight TLR-1 (W/L) & an EOTech #551 / or 552. My primary use will be for CQB, but I expect the weapon to be "capable" out to perhaps 200M or so, if need be. My base is an SAI SOCOM II, which I've removed the Vltor CAS-14 Rail Unit & replaced it with a black GI spec. basic hand-guard. I've also added a "Versa-Pod" assembly, to replace the front sling swivel & provide me with 3.25" of Picatinny rail on which to mount the TLR-1. So, that's the base unit I'll be working with. Back to the stock question(s): Was the a primary reason that the initial version SAGE Mk 14 Mod 0 stock system was dropped in favor of the TROY MCS ? ( Or does CRANE / NSWC still use the SAGE model for their Mk 14's ? If I've read correctly, the original SAGE stock & the "Chop Mod" version are 2 different models, with the primary reason / difference being the weight reduction feature of the "Chop Mod" type ? I'm very interested in learning the details of the Mk14 Mod's 0 & 1 stock systems, & about the whole series in general. >>> As always, ANY & ALL replies will be most deeply appreciated. >>> THANK YOU

If you want a MK14 MOD 0/1 clone then you need to go with the Sage stock. I don't believe any of the Troy stocks are in service with the military yet but I may be wrong.
