TFL061 - Bula M21DMR lives!

Got it in yesterday from the group buy, put it together today. Went with the 19.25" NM barrel. Only a couple of minor issues dropping it in the Sage but, nothing serious of course. I am really kinda liking this modern chassis/stock. 4.5x14 MKIV LR/T on an American Defense Recon mount is a wee bit tall for my liking. We'll see how she shoots.

I have the same rifle in a walnut stock, she is a shooter! Yours will be too, is there any thing you could do to lower that scope some or do you prefer them that high?

Thanks from tex_1961 and Itsadryheat

tex that rifle looks sharp and mean.

I like that Sage color. Is that FDE?

I agree with you that scope looks excessively high.

I have a luepold own mine and medium height rings are perfect. If you decide to go that route. The rear of the scope is just over the rear sight aperture. That is an awesome scope btw.

Yep, drop the scope about a mile and a half and you will have a heck of a rifle.

Lol, no I like the scope as low as I can get it.
It is FDE, love it!
That AD mount and scope was borrowed from an SR762 that I hardly shoot and yes, it's about a year too high. Just dug around in the scope/ring and mount box and found a set of Warne QD 30mm I 'm going to try. Should be about right.
Preliminary test firing was good on function and minute of steel (10" round) at 200.

Thanks from M14vrp and nf1e

Get them warne rings on there and get comfortable, once you break that rifle in Im positive it will surprise you. I'm not talking about crazy procedures or break in processes. I'm talking about shooting it 100 times and cleaning it and shooting a group.

Thanks from tex_1961

I changed out the AD Recon mount for the Warne rings. This is so much better, glad I had them. I'll be back on the range tomorrow and wring it out.
Just wondering, I'm not real crazy about the crush washer for a shim on the GC. I pulled the piston after my 40 rds today during cleaning. When I went back together with it I noticed the lock went past 600. When I first assembled it I wrenched it to position from just shy of 600. It was tight. I'm thinking to go back with shims instead since I know they won't give. Anyone else run into this with the crush washer?

The Warne rings got her down much better. Shot 3 warm up rds then 10 FGMM 168s. Not my best performance I'm sad to say but, I've got something to work with. Hit on the high right was a spotter to dial in the scope. POA was center of the red dot. This should be close at 200. I'm really liking it. Thanks to all who corrupted me on the modernized variant...lol
Don't know why this target pic rotated....

Damn fine shooting! That's what I meant about the rings. That barrel will tighten up more as you shoot her!

What a nice rifle. And decent shooting too. So what is your next one going to be? The corruption doesn't end here.
