First range trip with mk305

Went and hit the range today after work to do a live function check with my Nork M305 in sage chassis. The trigger reset perfectly, but my op rod spring guide keeps popping out and ejecting it's self into the mag well. Im assuming i need to make a new full length retention pin, someone please confirm.

Only 3 shots in and I had to retire it for the evening, thankfully I took the SKS with me and got about 10 more shots in before the pistol league came in and took over the range. At least I got off work early.

Can't confirm without some pics buy you can see if there is clearance in the stock to allow the retention pin to wiggle free. An option is to glue a piece of wood (like a section of popsicle stick) in the stock to prevent movement of the pin.

Yep the pin had lots of room to wiggle around
Interesting idea on the popsicle stick, and I have kept that thought in my head but alas I just made a new longer pin as well as made the pin hole deeper. I ended up finding a broken drill bit in my shop the correct diameter to make a pin out of (saved me time making one on the lathe). The pin is now a slightly snug fit that only requires a gentle push with a punch to remove, and long enough so it wont eject the ORSG if it does wiggle loose. I guess another fix would have been to just replace the opportunity rod spring guide with a round one instead of the stock flat one

I have used popsicle sticks or another appropriately sized piece of wood
