Old & New Combined

I was working on my sons SOCOM II CQB and was looking at the stock I just refinished and decided to see what it looked like together.. I sure do love the wood look.. Left it together for him so he can see it when he comes home later.

be careful, you may not get that stock back after he sees it.

Thanks from chief on one and Pappy1600

He doesn't know it yet, but the stock is his once I finish his Christmas present build.

that's a NICE looking rifle there...that's actually right up my alley for what I want my scout build to look/function like. How do you like the clip guide pic rail for the little red dot?

I don't like the way the Vortex Venom sight is located, the rear sight is useless with this optic installed on the clip guide, it completely blocks the use of the rear sight.. I prefer to be able to use my BUS..

That's exactly what I've been wondering about. Guess I'll probably stick to a 1x4 illuminated reticle scope on my scout with a sadlak mount so I can still use the irons.

Take a homely gal and put a pretty dress on her and they all look like queens.

Your Christmas present may be stockless as Dougboffl said.

Or install a Ultimak handguard rail and an Ainpoint H or T series red dot and they will co-witness.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with the old/new combo. I ended up putting a slightly beat up walnut stock and handguard set on my last build along with an Aimpoint and Surefire Warcomp. Although not winning any beauty contests, it's easily one of my favorite rifles for handling and shooting.
