Thanx guys.
Yeah, I watched Tony's video, and Brownells had some very good videos too.
I ended up ordering a chamber maid, a chamber port, bolt roller greaser and a guide for my tipton rod. She's as slick as snot and ran very well for those initial 20 rds. All I had was 168gr SMK. Im gonna order some 150gr MEN ammo soon. Would have already, but got a great deal on Sig .357 ammo. 1,000 rds $299 shipped. (Speer LawMan)

Maclaren,
Welcome to my addiction!
I got a pretty good deal on Federal Lake City XM-80s 149gr fmj
at Ammo to Go out of Houston.
It's real good plinking ammo, and for getting serious i shoot
the Federal 175gr Sierra Matchking from the same place.
Looks like you're well on your way!
Enjoy the greatest Battle Rifle ever made!

I took my scout squad out on President's Day. I picked it up in August and that was the first chance I had to shoot it. My job is a hassle. Anyway, it is right up there with my M1 Garands in the fun zone.

Over the 6 months I have had it I ordered a couple mags at a time from 44mag. Ended up with 12 before I knew it. Picked up half a case of Federal M80 too. I kept em in the 10 ring (two 10 shot groups) on an SR1 target @ 100 yards after sighting it in. Not too shabby with that synthetic stock. I did see a lot of play in that stock so I ordered a GI walnut for it. I thought I could grow to like the synthetic but NOPE! Only other firearms I have that are polymer are the two .22 pistols. It will be a good stock if I decide to do any run and gun stuff but till then that synthetic will probably sit in the closet.

Good deal Donkey.
Can't wait to get mine sighted in.
Gotta get some good targets first.
Then put up a table with some sand bags and zero her in. Man, the M1A, to me, is just a pure joy to shoot. Those peep sights are just remarkable.
