I didn't realize other rifles have the same notches the M-14 has. I thought the collar was M-14 specific and could have the dovetail and sight; that from there forward are the only similar parts.

These don't need adapters. While the exterior profile is the same, simplifying manufacture, they are threaded specifically for each type of rifle.

Mine is threaded for the M14 and can't be used on any other type of barrel.

They make a generic 5/8x24, which can fit on various adapters.
