UTG makes a knock off of this rail. I tried it once but it wasn't my style. It works well, but you have to replace the side reciever screw with one that isn't made out of aluminum foil or cheese.

Anyone got any feedback on how well this works as a scope mount?

Any opinions?

Thanks wrenchbender. It appears that it does attach over the barrel and at the front band, in the same manner as a standard handguard, with the added side mounting point. I can't help but wonder how well that secures the front from movement. I guess the only way to know for sure is to drop the coin to try it out. But too expensive for me.

Thanks from Buelligan

Personally, I would not want to put a scope on a rail that is both mounted to the receiver AND the barrel.

Thanks from Buelligan, ArmyPilot and MeatyMac

+1.

It looks to be very well made, and have excellent ventilation for the barrel. I like it!
Thanks for the photos, mrmark99.

Just my opinion here; it looks a lot better than the HG/rail system on the SOCOM II. I'm pretty sure because of the way it's mounted and because it can only work on a standard profile barrel, it was never designed for long range accuracy.

In this context, it doesn't look bad... except for the price.
