I found this:

http://www.sportsmansoutdoorsupersto....cfm/ID/168128

Ehh.. it's not blowin' my skirt up.

To paraphrase Crocodile Dundee, that's not a CQB SOCOM, THIS is a CQB SOCOM:

Details on this stock and where I can get one?

I recently purchased a SOCOM 16 CQB and I do love it. I modified the Arc Angel stock to accept a MagPul CTR stock and a MagPul AK grip. It's a bit more comfortable but it's still a cheap Promag stock. I also have a Aimpoint PRO mounted. Other than the questionable stock, the rifle is fantastic. Purchased with LE discount for $1700 out the door.

Does anyone know if there is any aftermarket source for that stock that comes on the CQB 16 rifle? I called Springfield. They will not sell it separately, at least for now.

I'd love to try out that stock. I just don't want to buy a whole new rifle to do it.

It's not available for retail sale unless someone wants to sell theirs!

Leon McKee

P.S. I currently own the CQB 16. The stock is actually ok at CQB to be honest! However, if given a choice I would strongly recommend the Sage chassis. I own a number of those and they DO outperform the CQB stock. Just more weight! I do think the CQB would be a great choice for taking out the dreaded boar :-)

if that sa folder could be adapted to accept the smith ent gas block with the 3/8x 24 thread.the short gas lock with sight post

WARNING Will not work with factory SOCOM or SOCOM II XS Style Front sights, they sit egregiously high and will have you shooting extremely low past the point of adjustment.

Thank you... sigh... I was hoping whatever company makes it for Springfield would sell it under their brand too.

Springfield did say to check back in a year or two.

I guess I could try a WTB ad. Seems like a long shot.

If you're looking for an affordable folding stock similar to what SA has in their CQB, this is our first prototype of our stock adapter, putting the Zukhov Yugo folding and adjustable length stock on the Springfield Composite Stock and/or the USGI Fiberglass.

Again, this is just the prototype, the production part has better flow lines and is 1cm shorter in length. Final prototype is on its way here for testing and pictures. Estimated completion of these the first week of December and ready for sale.

So I bought the SA CQB it's the 4th M1A I've owned (standard, Socom 16, Socom II, scout) and I have to say that I'm not wholeheartedly enthusiastic about it. The stock seems relatively cheap and the feel deviates from the typical feel of the M1A. In my opinion of course. I'm in the process of selling it right now in Utah after 150ish rds down range to fund a FDE scout. That's how much I don't like the feel. Awesome concept but fell short of the pedistol I put it on during my 2mth wait to receive it from SA.

Thanks from gunsbeerbacon

I personally really like the CQB setup. Handles very well and the polymer is pretty stout. Though I would likely never use it in a CQB situation, I really like the pistol grip and FAB Defense GLR-16 stock. Still working on my build, plan on getting a SilencerCo Radius to mount to the side and a Trijicon RMR soon after.image1 (2).JPG

If you feel like parting with the stock, shoot me a PM and Ill buy it from you. Ive done a little tweaking to my SAI synthetic for my Socom (I honestly probably just landed a good one). Everything aftermarket is just too damn expensive when I only want the ergonomics, im not doing any long distance work with the Socom. I have it set up as a scout rifle right now but sometimes throw an RMR on it and would like a CQB style tactical stock on it when I do.

Sorry about that, I never saw the response above.

Yes, these are available for sale now. I have one black and one in Forest Camo to sell.

Why a close quarters rifle in .308? Wouldn't the good old AR with a 30 round mag be a better option. This thread reminds me of when ARs saturated the market and the manufacturers started adding all the "do dads" to increase sales.

Because it's really overkill to field a CQB rifle in .50 cal.
