Ugly ?

No

Do I read carbon fiber composite to mean heavier than pure carbon fiber ?

they should have made the stock butt carbon too.

They were one of the first too start with carbon fiber, they just never made that many.

Doesn't state the weight on there. I don't see a CF sheet "weave"... Is this painted over or some type of fiber impregnated material?

Yes they do state the weight under the specifications tab; 2 lbs 13 oz.

AG Composites says that their stock is 1 lb 12 oz.

Thanks from MAC702, Firefight and roy1994

Every person has to make his own decision but I'm really happy with my AG Composites stocks, the CBR has turned my SOCOM in to the lightest .30 cal carbine that I've ever tried to carry, and it's very accurate too.

I believe it can be had either way. One of the color options is "Raw"

Agreed, but I'd be more concerned about functionality & if it serves to improve accuracy.

If I go CF that's the direction I'd chose as well.

I don't have any experience with AG, though they look mean, I do have experience with vltor and I recently ran into an issue were that the riffle lost accuracy. Eventually I found a crack in the 2007 vltor stock and contacted them. They said it was the older fiberglass stock and that all their stocks were now carbon fiber reinforced and were happy to exchange my cracked stock for the new model for no money, even sent me shipping labels with the freight paid. I am waiting for them to send the new one and will report back when I get it. I was impressed that it cost me nothing to send it back and that they didn't even seem to bat an eye at it.
