Does anybody out there use a CASM? They look slick to me but I don't see anybody talk about using them. Anybody want to sound off with pros and cons they've experienced?

I love it. Rock solid, relatively low. I didnt mind losing the irons because I love my optic, and when I tried using the irons with other scope mounts I was never really happy with my acquisition time.

The casm still has a peep sight for the worst case scenario which is all my irons were for really anyhow.

There are some good reviews on the forum if you do some digging.

I agree with what semperpie said. Mine is solid and works flawlessly and the peep site works. I can even use the peep site with my cheek riser up. It is also very light.

That being said it's on my dedicated heavy scoped M1A rifle. My other rifle is my lightweight irons only M1A.

I personally think the CASM mount is one of the best M14 scope mounts available ... at any price! However, as the guy who came up with the original concept for the CASM M14 scope mount series, I am perhaps not objective.

Read the postings and reviews here at the M14.forum for more un-biased and objective opinions. Or for a better understanding of the CASM mounts, read the posting at M14.ca that discusses the engineering and design principles further.

I own two CASM mounts and they are very solid, lightweight and have a peep in the back for those that do use sights for backup. I have since sold one of my rifles and kept the mount as part of the sell/trade but all in all, I have all good things to say about them.

Best advice on using one is follow the directions! The set screws put a lot of torque on the mount and do not require a white knuckled gorilla grip to set properly. Very sturdy locked-in design when installed correctly, in my opinion.

I use the CASM-RD mount replacing the rear sight, for red dot mounting.

Wonderful with a Burris Fastfire III. Mount has a peep for front iron use.

Also have the standard CASM for scope mount if I decide to switch back to scope.

Quality pieces.
