| Seeking Relevent Weights & Data on SAGE EBR Stocks
Hello All, I'm finally in a position to consider buying a new SAGE EBR set up for my SAI SOCOM II. Currently, I have it in a configuration very similar to a basic SOCOM 16, as I didn't really need all the rails up front. I'm trying to locate a factory guide or spec. sheet which details all the relevent weights & data pertaining to the SAGE EBR series, both the M14ALCS & M14ALCS/CV. I tend to prefer the original ALCS, but really like the lighter weight of the ALCS/CV version. ( IIRC, the ALCS/CV is lighter ? ) Basically, I'm in the same boat we all are, wanting a 7.62 NATO weapon, but without the corresponding 12+ lbs of weight to lug around. Soooo, does anyone know where I can link to the data I'm seeking ? I've already tried the SAGE website, but just can't seem to get the catalog or any of the product sheets to open up ? Any & all replies will ve very much appreciated. THANK YOU
Best, dpast32

THANK YOU, for your prompt reply. I already had that particular document in my files, but had forgotten about the weights & o.a.l. data it contained. From the information presented, it appears that you save just over 3/4's of a pound by going to the Mod 1 version, as compared to the original Mod 0 type. Personally, I prefer the older Mod 0, but with a weapon that's heavy to begin with, I guess that saving @ .75 lbs off the total is not to be dimissed lightly. That saved weight could easily cover the weight of a nice 1 X 4 or similar optic, or any of the various HWS / RDS units currently available. Hopefully, with some careful choices, I'll be able to keep the weapon's unloaded weight to just under 11 lbs !

I dunno bout the weights in the posted report.
My socom without optic or ammo was 12+ lbs in a mod 0 configuration.
I was at 10 lbs with a vltor setup - optic and ammo.
And 9 for an Armalite in same config.
I tossed the Sage EBR setup and went with the stock urban camo stock with a cqb optic and it is now just over 10.5 lbs.
It all adds up fast with all the steel in an M14 design.

Your's appears to be just like mine as.it stands right now. It's still in the SAI Urban Camo stock that it came in, & very soon it will sport an Ultimak M8 Rail Handguard. For the interim, I'll probably just mount an EO Tech XPS-2-0, & ride that set up until I can decide exactly what configuration I really want, & really need. I'm partial to the SAGE due to it's accuracy enhancement, but will also consider the Vltor assembly. It's nice to be able to reduce a weapon's OAL at will, but in my particular circumstanes, it's not an absolute requirement. Sometimes I think when setting up some of our weapon systems, we have to decide exactly what we need, as opposed to what looks good or "cool". When it's all said & done, I just may end up with what I've got right now, adding only a good 1x4 CQB - medium optic in a quality mount. Off the top of my head, a Trijicon TR24 or mid-price range Leupold scope. Any thoughts & or comments ?
