Lower forend picatinny rail

Hey Guys, I'm new here and jus got a Socom 16 AA9625, cant wait to take it to the range. But I do have a question...I've been searching the net to see if there was or is a way to attatch a picatinny rail to the lower forend so as to mount a grip?
Also out of all the photos I've seen including SA site I havent seen a side saddle scope mount, which by chance my came with. Note: This is a new weapon and not used.

Thanks

Sadlak offers a rail and is a site sponsor. Hope that helps.

That's a neat set up. IIRC, it was Rammac who reversed his to get the rail closer to the shooter if that's needed.

I bought a 12 slot rail from mag pul and mounted it behind the swivel by drilling and fitting. It was too long. I went to a seven slot.

Thanks thats just what I was looking for. But wondering how will the synthetic stock hold up?

Also was maybe thinking about replacing the sights with the NM sights. I was wanting a NM in the first place but like almost everything else "backodered" and my trigger finger was getting itchy.

When I was at the toy shop they did have a Loaded, which I should have gotten, Not that I'm unhappy in the least, now I'm just trying to make what I've got a little more accurate and useful.
I did at least have them put a order for a NM with woodstock!

The synthetic stock will hold up better than wood, give you better lock up and usually better groups with less need to bed. As far as sights go, it being a Socom I would stick with the standard tritium sight or replace with a non-tritium standard. Here are a few places where I usually get my parts from and they carry both front and rear NM.

Ok here's my next question...if I go woth the h-1, t-1 or the Vortec Sparc and using the stock upper rail of the Socom 16 and iron sights will I be able to use the standard top rail as the mount or look for a lower profile pic rail (if possible), to as you all call it co-witness ??

If it's possible some suggestions on the equipment needed. Conversly I want to be able to use the iron sights and the red dot, which ever would be needed at that particular moment

Another question will a USGI trigger group drop into palce without any modicications ? I'd like to rtplace the original SAI trigger group with the USGI and keep the original SAI as a back-up

As I mentioned in another this is my first M1a and I'd like to not spend $$ needlesy???

Thanks all suggestions will be researched and appreciated

I know I'm a newbee to the m1a platforms so I am going to be asking many questions from time to time...sorry

I was able to get 2 pic rails mounted one just behind the forward sling mount and one in the left side towards the barrel for a tac light. But I did look at the Sadlak but my gunshop charged me &20 and that included the 2 rails and installation ( hard to beat that).

And the lower rail gives me enough room to add the Tango down shortie and if I decide later there is enough room for a bipod

As you can see at this point I'm trying to get as much specific info so as to look at my options with what I have to work with.

As a side note I did take off the SAI 3 rd generation side rail scope mount (thing wheight a ton ), not sure if I'm saving it or selling it///maybe save it for when I get a Loaded, which will be a while after this last rifle purchase

Awards Showcase

As has been discussed before on this forum (you might try to do a search using T1 or co-witness as keywords) there is only one way to get a true co-witness;

Ultimak M8 rail in place of the hand guard and the H1 or T1.

Nothing else will allow a true co-witness where the dot is centered on the top of the front site post. There are other possibilities but the dot and or post will not be centered in the rear peep sight.
