my SOCOM16II with extended rail

EBR stock and SOCOM16II side by side

do the field strip, to remove op-rod please please use this method

THANKS BagemTagem!! you are D'man, i was about to send the action back to SA have them remove the op-rod.
basically you have to strip everything off the barrel.

now that you have everything stripped down, time to open up the EBR stock
remove the 2 screw on the hand guard by using 5/32 allen wrench

also the 5 screw on the top cover using the same 5/32 allen wrench

the op-rod guide and crush washer

remove the 3 screw using the same 5/32 allen wrench

the op-rod guide has 2 red dot, this very important that you face the red dot towards where you want to shoot

to align the op-rod guide, this is what i did, i put the action into the EBR stock, and slip guide on, so everything is aligned. carefully remove the action without moving the guide. now all you have to is press it in. In my case there is no way I can remove the original guide without a press, nor hammer it back in without a press, but YMMV.

So the crush washer is little too thick

crushed it down

perfect!

put the pin back in the op-rod guide, pin back in the front gas block, gas piston.

this is little weird for me, the gas piston and the op-rod doesn't line up. is this going to be a problem?

complete swap

Thanks from heyjowee

i like how you got the guide off nice ingenuity.

i pounded mine off with a hammer.

does your op-rod line up with the gas piston?

The tolerances on this stock are so tight that if you can get it into the chassis, and the operating rod functions then your good to go.

when i first got the op rod guide on there the op rod would NOT go through the guide and move freely. It was not lined up properly. A few whacks with my hammer and it worked fine, but i really had to struggle with it.

Your pic looks off. does the action cycle properly when u charge the op rod?

also is the red dot on the op rod guide pointing to the muzzle?

I am not a gunsmith and have only installed one of these. But i would get out mr hammer and whack that op rod guide two good whacks (with a big hammer. and it should line up (make sure you remove the op rod)

before you do that drop it in the chassis and see if the screw holes line up nicely and if you can tighten them (don't force it!)
that will probably line it up. how hard was your rod guide to get into position? mine was a booger.

sorry i don't have my video up I'm gonna edit it all and put in written directions. My guide will involve no tools other than what you need in the field

everything fits good, i didn't have to FORCE any screw or hammer the action into the EBR stock. the action cycles properly feels the same as before. and yes the red dot are facing towards the muzzle.

i just took apart the chassis again, after close inspection, the op-rod was like that before the swap. because the the piston left a mark on the op rod. the mark still matches. so i think i am good to go. i'll post some range video this weekend.

His original post was asking if it was illegal to post instructions, because nobody else has ever posted a step by step picture installation instruction guide. He wanted to make sure he would not get in trouble for posting something of the sort.

So we dont need the links to the instructions that is supplied with the EBR chassis
