Handguard Rail Systems

I am looking to upgrade my handguard to a rail system, I love the visual appeal of the TROY battlerail, but I don't like how it attaches to the rear sight assembly.

The only other handguard system I know of is the VLTOR CASV-14 system, I like how it attaches to the stripper clip guide and I want to have the ability to still use my irons.

Anyone know of any other systems? Will the VLTOR CASV-14 fit a SA Loaded M1A? Will it fit with an Promag Archangel stock as well?

I am also looking into my optic and mounting options. It seems like the desirable scopes don't have enough eye relief but i want to be able to keep my irons as well as have free access to my receiver. I have an SAI scout and am looking into the ultimak hand guard or the fulton armory full rail . Not sure if i move a scope as far back on that rail without overlapping the receiver if it will be close enough for short eye relief as well a good cheek weld. I want a 1-4 or 2-7 power scope illuminated reticule, etched cross hairs positive engagement (clicking feel) for elevation and windage. Also want a quick detach set up in order to switch to irons easily. I also would like it to have long eye relief preferably on the existing scout mount on my rifle but if i need to get a new hand guard and move the scope back then i will. Anyone have any thoughts or ideas in what set up to use.

UTG makes the lower rail.

Decent enough rail,
but crippled by CHEAP connecting hardware, and no real SOLID connection at the back.

Fun to play with using a LIGH scout mounted red dot, but NOT suitable for solid durable connction with a BIG scope at the back,
BTDT,
modified a few with better HW,
but still prefer the Ultimak rail.

This is the one I use on my SOCOM 16

My current setup with a long eye relief Nikon Encore 2.5-8x28mm scope with a Bullet Drop Reticle (BDC) that provides specific points of aim for 100, 200, and 300 yards.

Leaning towards the CASV-14 VLTOR. Does anyone know if you could still use irons? After the handrail purchase wont be able to get optics for a bit, wife would castrate me!

For what it's worth, the Ultimak rail is the lowest made. The top of the rail is actually lower than the rifle's receiver ring.

I'll play devils advocate and hype a brand that isn't being represented. I do not have one on my rifle, I do like them, but since I have a med weight barrel I cannot use it.

These are made by amega ranges and are also available badge marketed thru fulton.

You can still use irons. I use the CASV-14 because it allows the use of the traditional short eye relief rifle scopes.
