Your cheekweld will be kinda poor. I was running a comp M3 before I went with an over the reciever mount. I could use it but I had to chinweld it.

I grabbed a riser from desert warrior products which I like a lot.

Doesn't the factory Comp M4 mount have a spacer between the rail mount and optic?

I have a scout, in a vltor stock with the stock raised all the way and i still had to remove the spacer from the aim point mount. Now i get a nice cheek weld. I would imagine a blackhawk cheek rest or something nicer and remove that spacer and you will be in business.

You might want to give LaRue Tactical a call. I am having a SOCOM built at SEI right now and during my research I found that by using an Ultimak M8 rail and a LaRue Tactical LT152/L mount I will be able to co witness my irons with a Comp M3. It is worth a phone call to see it it works with an M4.

Let me know it it works, please.

So I just called larue tactical and they basically told me that they don't deal with any M1A's/SOCOM II. So he didn't know what to tell me but he did say they didn't offer a mount that would work with the M4s...I think what I will have to do is just get a cheek rest for it...I watched on YouTube that nutnfancy was running a EOTech on his SOCOM and it sat pretty high and he had no problems...I get the optic today so I will try and post some pictures of it and let you know how the cheek weld is...I would have really loved to co witness this rifle I'm sure someone out there has a mount for it.

Co-witness with the irons? Real hard. The m1/m14 was designed for iron sights through and through and its pretty apparant with the stock design and how low the irons sit.

The only co-witnessable red dot ive ever seen was recently posted. Its a mount like the normal scout mount that you can mount a micro red dot to. Its made by midwest industries.

Ive shot mine without the riser, and its not too big of a deal since its 0 parrallax/no magnification. But now that I have it Ill never take it off. Even using the irons I prefer its curvature over the normal stock.

I have an COMP M4 mounted on an SOCOM II with a mount from Aimpoint. It works great but you need a cheek plate.

Skip Larue anyway. They like to dinger up your rails. I'd go with the ADM mount. They are slightly lower than Larue.

I got an inexpensive cheek plate on line through Cabela's. It was around $30.00. Its only temporary because I'm getting a new Jae stock for it. I have fired it with and without the cheek plate and obtain the same results but its a lot harder without the cheek plate. The cheek plate I speak of just straps on and is easy to remove.
