Mine sure did. Reloading for the short barrel helped even more.

Guys, those are all awesome!
Thanks for posting the pix!

Glenn,
What are the specs on your reloads for the shorter barrel?
Thanks,

I have been using a bunch of different powders, IMR 4895, H4895, IMR 8208XBR, Ramshot Tac, IMR 3031.
RAMMAC had been load testing different powders and his research with the QuickLoad program showed IMR 3031 the better powder to use with the short barrel. Do yourself a favor and check RAMMAC's posts on reloading for these rifles. We are blessed by his willingness to share his knowledge with us.

Here is what I have been using lately.
IMR 3031, 40.5gr.
LC or GGG brass 2.006" length
155gr. A-MAX or SMK bullets. The SMK bullets are more accurate with this load, they are also more expensive. Need to tweak the A-max a little more.
COAL; A-MAX 2.800", SMK 2.775"
CCI BR2 primers
Getting an average velocity of 2540fps with this combo.
As with all reloading, work up your loads and keep safe.

Would be neat to see some modernized steel & wood eye candy in the form of a SOCOM 16!
You know, there was a limited series made with walnut stock. AAaand here one is with his bigger brother Scout.

The wood looks nice, personally I like the all back standard appearance though.

I found the stiffness of the wood stock helped attain better consistency.
And it gets looked over at the range quite a bit.

Glenn
That is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. A tear was shed.

Those socoms look great with the wood stocks, but than again most rifles look great with a wood stock . geepee3 i drooled a little bit at the sight of that wood handguard.
Good Shooting.

Johnny,
I really like yours with the original vented hand guard. I got one with the intention of dressing up my Scout with it, but, now I don't know, maybe one day, it needs to go onto a socom...
