Interesting stuff! Pre-1966 I can't recall any drug checks but if anyone was caught with any amount of marijuana, it was 6,6, and a kick. It sounds quaint now, but our biggest vice was beer and sometimes a little shine.

I can't remember ever wanting to be or do anything else.

Still with the Corps as a Civil Servant. Just can't imagine any other career.

I spent nine years and eleven days active, my biggest reason(s) for getting out (other than bad knees) was that 1) I was tired of being a babysitter for grown men, and 2) it just wasnt fun anymore

I wouldnt trade a minute of my time in for anyones money, I saw and did more in those years than anyone I went to high school with and I miss it everyday. I wouldnt change any of it either

I agree I wouldn't want to see any friends die. From this perspective, no, but from a personal experience factor and who I became because of the things I have done and seen, yes.

Without a second's delay I'd do it all over again. Theres a few things I would change; I should have extended to go with my battalion to Afghanistan, I regret that one every day and I should have reenlisted.

GD Marines! The harder it is the more they like it! Sick! Sick in the head I tell ya!

Semper Fi brothers!

Ya I'd do it again to! Although I can't tell ya why! Hard headed I guess!
Best and worst decision I ever made.

Treetop's post says it all! " wouldn't do it again for a million but wouldn't give it back for 10!"

Would do it again in a minute. The only thing I would do differently would be to say OK when my Senior DI. said "If you ship over as a regular, we'll send you to Sea School.

Sea School and getting assigned to a battleship, now that would have been very cool.
