If anyone is in the area of central Missouri, the Marine Corps ball will be celebrated at the Civic Ctr. in Branson at 1700 on 10 November and also at Tantara resort in Osage Beach on, I believe, this Saturday night.Happy birthday and Semper Fi!

Happy Birthday wishes to ALL the Maines out their, especialy the ones who went before and gave their all to build the reputation that ALL Marines have today.

I went AWOL from Bethesda to attend the 1970 Birthday Ball, in a wheelchair, with pajama
bottoms and a borrowed madras shirt, met the Commandant who said if I got in trouble for
being there to call him.
If I keep at it I will be the oldest Marine cutting the cake with the youngest Marine at some
future Birthday Ball.

I will be gathering with a few Jarheads tonight at Michael's restaurant in Minot, ND. Every year I try to get as many of us together as I can, have some Birthday cake and cut it with my NCO sword. Pulling out a sword at a restaurant is always fun!
