10,000 times more than M14E2 stock hardware Unobtainium.

8 or so years ago there was a sight base/sight on gunbroker , me an another guy bid on it, he wanted it more and I made him pay for it. Shortly there after he was advertising on all the M96 forums for the bren barrel. Well I had bought a extra been barrel long ago for my top feed( shoot the one barrel till it got hot and switch barrels SAW type thing) so I could have made 2 brens if I had that rear sight. He never did find the barrel and ended up selling the sight base/sight. You can see his ad on the XCR forum.

I'll post before and after pics as well.

Thanks to everyone here that helped and especially SSBiggun who helped me spend my $$$.

Looking forward to the pictures and range report.
That old muzzle break is part of the barrel. Watch how you have him cut it off. Best is to have him turn it down to the size of the rest of the barrel then thread it. Cutting off a chrome lined barrel can chip the chrome t the cut.

I have a recon M96 and it came with an A2 style brake.
Removed the rear sight.slid the rail back and mounted an IOR Valdada scope
Great guns and they hold their value well.
Easy to clean because you can take the barrel out to clean it and very little carbon residue on the bolt after shooting.
The receiver is made out of stainless steel and melonite coated.

Welcome to the waiting list, yes holly is very helpful in responding to our needs regarding the m96. Communicated with her since early last year regarding parts et. before I even bought the rifle I researched and knew what may come of it. If it shoots n breaks p/no parts etc.... We all know what to expect...at least I do.

The only ones I'll buy are broken M96s that disappointed owners want to sell cheap, once they've given up on Robinson Arms.

Me too as Robinson won't be getting any money from said transaction.

I consider myself lucky as I know an owner who has one, for parts only. years ago he thought he seated tha barrel all the way(not secured) then he fired a round=parts:)

I also own a RA M96 with the short barrel. 37thguy helped me out with a butt stock as mine came with an ACE side folder. I since have only a couple of days ago been able to shoot it for the 1st time. I really like the way it handles with the exception of battle sight use. I had to lay my head almost sideways in order to get my sight picture with either the side folder or the straight stock. Yesterday I modified a FAL "hump back" stock for it and it makes a world of difference! I'm going to make a special note of checking the barrel fit before firing it after seeing the post here about possible damage or danger. I also added a "Tabuk" style flash hider to give it a longer look. Really like to find a 20" barrel!

Mine as it is now.
Ior Valdada scope and surefire flash hider.
It shoots very well and a bit more accurate than my M4 at 250 yards.
