Ohh man, I've had my eye on a 16" POF-308 for a while too. Be sure to let us know how it shoots! Post Pics too!

Will do! You know how it goes, these things schedule out 20 weeks! I've been reading that some have been later so I questioned them on it over the phone. They say some have taken up to 25 weeks but mostly out by 20 weeks. With the weather at -30 right now in WI. its feels like it would be 20 weeks before I would want to go out and shoot it anyway :)

I would have ordered one when they were intro'd, but they did'nt have the forwrd assist from the get go.

I emailed them as soon as I saw the first picture about the lack of a forward assist and they said "they would'nt be offered with a forward assist"

Hope you get it before big O wipes the slate clean.

BTW - Hi everybody this is my first post, woohoo

Most claim that a forward assist is not needed on a .308 cal. AR. Also it is piston driven so once again the need is not their. In reality if your bolt doesn't go forward the last thing you should do is forcefully cram it into battery. You may never get another shot off. In Afghanistan I saw a soldier at the range who had so much sand in the chamber his bolt woulnd't go into battery, so he smacked the forward assist. Well that got the bolt almost into battery, but it took 15 min and 3 guys to get the bolt back. So if it doesn't chamber you have a problem. You could rinse the action out real quick with water if you are in the heat of battle, better than nothing.

I never had a 308 AR but have had a terrible time with a FAL that wont go into battery about half the time.

You won't be disappointed. My buddy got his last month (26 week wait) and he loves it (so do I...) Quite accurate for a 16" and went through all types of ammo without a hiccup.
