AR's are easy peasey to build if all you want is something to hunt yotes. My Son and I started to build them when he was 10. Not match rifles, and not saying they will run 1000 runs without a hiccup during a course.....but they sure put a hurt on predators and ground grizz.

I say take Bamban up on his offer and buy yourself a stripped upper and kit....and build it. an avid predator hunter....when did NF start putting out thermal?

Complete rifles have never been cheaper. My co-worker said his buddy just picked up a S&W for $400. Just another option to think about.

Some play between the upper and lower is normal. It's part of the design. It doesn't need to be "fixed."

More important is that the takedown and pivot pins don't bind. If the spacing of the holes is just a little bit off between the upper and lower, the pins will bind up enough that they can only be pushed out with a tool. That isn't good. The takedown and pivot pins should pop loose with just a tap of a knuckle, and pull the rest of the way out easily with just fingertips.

Sometimes even uppers and lowers from the same manufacturer will have holes that are misaligned enough to make the pins bind. If it's minor it can be fixed with just a bit of polishing, but if it's bad, then it takes either a different upper or lower to fix the problem.

Thanks from Bamban
