Talking First AR Build - update with range report

First AR owned/assembled. Shot one a few times before and decided to jump on the band wagon before the libs in Seattle and Olympia go full retard.

Lower:
Aero gen 2 lower
Geisle SSA-E trigger
Primary arms lower parts kit (no trigger)
Aero rifle buffer kit
Magpul Moe grip, trigger guard, and fixed rifle stock

Upper:
Aero M4E1 with 15" enhanced keymod hand guard
AIM V2 nitride BCG
Strike Industries charging handle
WOA 22" 1/8 twist varmit bull barrel
Aero extended scope mount
SWFA SS 10×42

Haven't shot it yet, hoping for a consistent 0.5MOA rifle once I dial in some handle loads. Will update with target pics once I try her out.

Nice choice of parts. My first AR looked very simular, a Rock River Predator Pursuit. Looking forward to a range report.

That's a nice looking AR, I like to see someone build a rifle out of the platform. These days everyone tries to make those fugly ar pistols!

Nice, I can't wait for a range report! Just picked up the same upper and their M-LOC handguard for a "fuggly AR pistol" build. I also have a SBR'ed lower to put it on as well as a suppressor. $60 uppers, $40 lowers, and $30 parts kits sure make it tempting to build some fun stuff.

Function tested the rifle with some cheap walmart ammo and it shot alright. Then tried some 75gr PPU match and got groups about an inch. Then tried some handloads.... yes I know they are 3 shot groups but I'm pretty happy with them! This was just to get ballpark accuracy with different powder, loads, and bullets. Next will be larger shot groups with the variations that shot well. I think I have a shooter! All shots at 100 yards.

I had a couple groups with crazy flier, like the group in the second picture. However, when I was loading some of the tipped bullets I didnt have my seating die set up and the tips got mangled. My guess is that the fliers are the ones where the tips were half missing :P It pays to read the instructions when setting up dies.

Last outing 😀 5 shot groups, 100 yards, prone, shooting off of sandbags.

Nice! I like the Aero receivers and I've heard great things about WOA barrels.

Now you're gonna be bummin! It is like playing with legos, once ya start ya can't stop!

After I did my first build (back in early 2009 when you couldn't find any parts) I picked up 5 more stripped upper/lower combos and built all but 2. I just started on the last two that will be used for service rifle matches for my son and me.

Great rifle you built and fine job on it!

Nice build and great looking groups. I just put together a 308 lower and upper from Aero Precision, and I must say I was very pleased with the fit and finish.
