QD sling mounts

I'm getting tired of QD swivels not being the same size universally.
Magpul QD's seem to be one size and all other makers sizes range from tight fit to no fit at all.
I will say Magpul makes very weak QD swivels.
Switched to Timber Creek Outdoors QD's and lock up is tight and stays put.

YHM-- little use so can't rate it. Initial quality seems high.

All I was able to find today was a Double Star QD and it fits just fine.
Nice tight lock up.
Why the Magpul ones failed I have no idea but I'll never use their QD mounts again.
I have the sling on a belt fed AR so its on the heavy side at about 7.5 lbs empty and a 100 round SAW bag into the equation its hefty.
Running and gunning with it wore out the Magpul QDs in a hurry.

Uncle Mikes offers a very stout stainless steel QD swivel set that I have used for a number of years(1.25") and can't imagine how anyone would ever break them, very heavy duty. Just a suggestion.

These are what the Army uses on selected weapons - some MGs, sniper rifles, etc., and they seem pretty stout.

Just a sharing in your grief.

I can never remember one failing or not matching growing up.
Now some have a larger pin than the old. And the smaller pin ends will go on but won't swivel on the larger holes studs. I think they just added steel to make up for the quality of it.
If you use a small pin swivel on a large stud it will put them in a bind and put leverage instead of tension.

++The Uncle Mike's which are (were at least) the smaller pin, are awesome just make sure the stud is compatable.

I'd second on YHM too, others have more hype, they get my money

Even with the risk of getting hit with peanuts, going under if you can't say anything nice, Magpul is extremely good at marketing.

Dooby Doo I do like some Magpul products but yeah they know how to market their product.
Are there better products out there? You bet there are.

VLTOR QD sling mounts are solid, and I've had good luck with the swivels that come on Blue Force Gear slings (so far zero issues).

QD's are still solid so I have to give Double Star the kudos on a great product.

Thanks from Dougboffl

I think he's talking about the "Push Button" type, The one I have seen look a little weak to me. I have a couple of full float rails on a couple of my AR's that have holes for them and I don't like how they lock up.
