I don't think so. The rear end of the upper is slanted where it mates to the lower. Others, like dpms pattern are curved. I don't think any others are made that way. Also look out for Rock River Arms as their uppers are longer than dpms.

Did you find an upper somewhere for sale? It would be cool if the polymer lower people made both types.

ArmaLite uppers and lowers are not interchangeable with any other brands.
But some DPMS pattern parts are compatible with ArmaLite.
ie... you can use a dpms pattern barrel with an ArmaLite upper but you should use a dpms bolt. There are a few other parts that fit as well.
ArmaLite uppers are expensive but ar308 uppers are not as cheap as ar15 uppers in general.
Make sure you're comparing apples to apples.

Do you have some or part of an armalite rifle now? What's your project?

I have the complete gun. I just don't like the permanent carry handle. My eyes are heading south and I would like to put a optic on it..

I was curious because I missed my Armalite ar10a4. So I built a dpms patterned ar308. I couldn't find an a2 upper or didn't look hard enough or want to spend the dough so I made a flat top in dpms pattern and got a detachable carry handle. I might have built an armalite if they had the upper and lower. But I wanted FDE too so I had to go Dpms with aeroprecision that had the color out of the box.

Another thing to keep in mind when swapping parts on an Armalite is the type you have; does it accept SR25/DPMS pattern magazines or the steel M14 style Armalite magazines? If it takes the former you'll need an "A" serires upper receiver and if it's the latter, you'll need a "B" series upper receiver.
