I thought they lubed them every 500 rounds or so for those testing videos with all of the rifles they do? And I also doubt he's using Frog Lube. Rob Ski aint got time for that nonsense. He's a CLP type of person being in the military and all.

On a side note, Rob Ski is awesome! I've been on his youtube channel since his first video posted. Highly recommended if you enjoy the AK platform and extreme gun enthusiast who speaks his mind without trying to impress anyone.

His channel is a good one because he tells it like it is and really doesn't play favorites.
If something fails he lets you know.
I'm not all that impressed with DD rifles as a whole and they don't seem to be light years ahead in quality over other brands.
I've had high end ARs from several makers and all were fine shooters but none were perfect by any means they all had their quirks.

Honestly source high quality parts and build your own to your specs. Now if a brand name on the gun is what drives you thats fine too.

Thanks from bomberbill

Absolutely. I've had great results building my own AR's. I've actually never had any problems with any of the AR's I've built from various parts. Granted, I did carefully select the parts, never anything "cheap", but I've always bought the pieces and parts when they were on sale from various known and trusted manufacturers. You don't have to spend a fortune to create an AR that shoots like it costs a fortune.

Thanks from bomberbill

I've been using and teaching the AR system for quite a few years. I own a few of the hated brands. I drive them and beat on them like stolen cars. As long as they are lubed properly they run well.

The fact that the DD weapon had issues within the first 5,000 rounds shows that no manufacturer makes a weapon that is infallible.

I'll bet the fan boys on the dedicated AR websites are wetting their pants over this review.

Whoa, you better watch out! I suggested that to someone in another thread who I thought was overpaying for a "factory built" rifle and got labelled as being a Bubba. But I agree with your statement wholeheartedly.

The DD fan boys will defend the brand and never tell you if they have an issue with their rifle.
I have shot a fair number of DD rifles and they did as good as any other AR platform rifle but they had their fair share of issues like stove piping rounds,FTE's
I broke a firing pin and bolt lug on a mark 18 last year so DD rifles aren't the be all end all of AR's
Would I personally buy one just because of the name? No I would not.

A rifle is = to the the sum of its parts. What does DD do better than the other 5000 AR manufactures?

I fixed your post. I'm not affiliated with DD nor do I own any of their factory rifles but the difference with DD is they actually manufacture most of their own parts as well as actually hammer forging their own barrels. Most other companies assemble parts made for them by other manufacturers.

I haven't had a single issue out of my DD yet. I take care of it though and keep it clean and lubricated.

My other AR is a SIG516 and I had multiple issues with it within the first 200 rounds with it but none in the last 500 rounds or so.

I honestly don't know which I would prefer since one is a piston gun and the other is DI. The DD has a longer barrel also and is a pain to clean the Sig is easy to clean.

I prefer both of them over my nephews S&W M&P Sport II though but I could buy 3 of his guns for the price of either of mine.

Some say that DD rifles are a bit over gassed. I don't know about that but if it's true that rifle must be really dirty/dry to slow it down like that.
