Charley's Surplus A1 stock Pics Added

I've been looking for an A1 length stock for my next Ar. Came across Charley's Surplus. $42 for a complete a1 buttstock. M16 takeoffs? Just the stock, no extension or other parts.
Two part question.
Is Charley's good to go? I called, they answered. Seems legit.
Should I just get the Cav Arms A1 from Fulton Armory?

Getting the original would save me about $20 after I get everything together, and be neat to have an original.

I get stuff from Charley's frequently. It's all just as described when it arrives. As the name implies "Surplus".......

They're described as excellent condition, all hardware included, repackaged for issue.
I'll try it out.

I've been dealing with Charley's for over 30 years. He's an honest dealer.

Last year I got two A-1 butt stocks from Fulton. I am very happy with them. They are USGI

Thanks for y'alls input.
Product delivered today, in great shape. I think I like the storage compartment better than the Cav Arms Cavern.
Pics to follow.

Pics. It's a little more glossy than I'd like, kinda slick.
Probably 409 or rough it up

That's the way they look. The early A1 buttstocks are Bakelite AFAIK, and have a somewhat glossy finish. Enjoy your genuine USGI goodness.

Then carry it around in the woods and crawl through mud and dirt with it for a few years, it will get scuffed.

Not Bakelite , but Cycolac , a glass reinforced nylon. Handguards were some other thermoplastic simliar to Bakelite.

Was at Sarco the other day and they had a bunch. They also had some original M-16 buttstocks without trapdoor.

So that is a type E stock and it sure looks like it is fitted with an A2 buttplate.

Does anyone have a link to this place?

Thanks from dbb1776
