Got a m1a scout that is awesome. Love my ar's, but the .308 is worthy of safespace. Looking to go full size m1a, but curious about the ar based .308's. What say the panel?
Well said. DI5A .308 caliber AR is a great target rifle. I am not so sure it is as durable as a M1A and it really doesn't have character.
A M1A that has not had extensive work done to it is a little less accurate than the AR platform, but it more than makes up for it in character.
I view the .308 AR vs. M1A the same as Tupperware vs. your favorite hunting dog. In the end there is just no comparison.
That double feed looks familiar, our 110's were not super reliable. Ours shot 4-5" groups suppressed at 100 if we cleaned the gas block where the silencer's ass end (expansion chamber) pressed up to it. It would shoot groups again after it fouled enough to seal back up, do yours to the same? Or was I just lucky! Wish we would have had EBR's, it was 110's 107's and a couple scope-less 24's.To say that 308 ARs don't have style is not true.
I am not against getting a 308 ar/ar10 whatever, but just like all ARs you eventually have to clean them. Which you do with all weapons, but since the ar craps where it eats I do not enjoy it. That being said they do look good and are usually pretty accurate. I say get one and see if you like it, if not there are always guys looking to get into the 308 ar game who I'm sure they would be glad to take it off your hands. All I know is when I was given the choice on which one to bet my life on I shot the 2 m110's available to me and an emr. I walked away with the emr.
