Ar10

I have a Ar10 i just bought some military brass for it. i sized them all, i went to go shoot them and they would not chamber all the way, is there something different i should be doing to military brass? It shoots winchesters and R P just fine

It sounds like they aren't properly head-spaced. Do you have a case gauge?

It sounds like they are not sized enough and or bullets not seated deep enough.'
Did you full lenght resize, what is your OAL.

Also you may need small base dies.

No i dont have a case gauge. i have a small base die and a full lenght die. let me go meausre the lenght. what does the case gauge do? Thank you

A case gauge basically simulates a standard chamber.
You can drop a case in the gage and if it fits its good to go, if it doesn't your not sized enough.

What kind of press are you using and how did you set up your full lenght resize die and is it a small base Full lenght resize die.

he diffrence is the neck diameter. In the 308 its .3433 and in the 7.62 its .345. Not much, but it can make a day at the range pure hell. I have the same issue with my Bushbastard upper, it will not take 5.56 brass. Took it to a gun smith and we resized the chamber just a tad. Still finicky though.
