Palmetto State Armory uppers any good?

I was looking at these today, they were cheap 300-400 for a barreled upper without the BCG. said 1:7 twist, chrome moly vandium barrel steel, just want to know how you all feel about palmetto? are the uppers durable, accurate, quality built? Is the steel good? and should i buy one? And if i do should i buy a BCG or just use my BCG out of my S&W M&P15?

My friends bought them. I would say they are not Bravocompany or LMT quality. Probably on par with RRA and Bushmaster.

I bought one a few months ago. Dealing with them was a nightmare. I called every week after the estimated build time and each time the clueless female working the phones told me it would be shipped "soon." I waited almost three months to get it, and it probably would have taken longer if I hadnt told them I wanted to cancel my order. The 16" M4 profile upper I received is good to go. Headspace on my Del-ton bolt was fine. Nice fit and finish; no complaints about accuracy. I dont think I want to put up with the hassle again though.

I ordered some XM855 from them awhile back and had no issues. Ammo shipped the same week.

I bought one a few weeks back. It came on time, was perfect in fit, finish and function. As far as Bushmaster, they manufacture nothing so comparing them isn't valid. They simply subcontract out. In fact as a company they are now pretty much gone.

Yupp. Ordered mine and it showed up next week. And, that included a canceled order and a "re-order". Im not sure if i was more impressed with the customer service/shipping or the quality of the barreled upper and bcg.

Instead of taking a shot with 400 for a b'd upper and bcg, why not spend that on just a bcm b'd upper? Especially since you have a bcg you can temporarily use, and if you have a lower already just put the upper on the lower and you're good to go until you can save some more money.

I have not purchased a complete upper from them but have put together several. Also put together with BCM. No difference in the two with my experience. Price is the only difference I could tell. Absolutely no failures of any kind.

+1..... PSA uppers are every bit as good as BCM offerings

Spikes subcontracts all their upper and lowers so they can be supplying the exact same items as others. Few actually manufacture uppers and lowers themselves.

Stag, S&W and Sig I know manufacture the uppers and lowers. Remington is probably doing them for all of the Freedom Group outlets. A few years back I was told by a CNC vendor for the firearm's industry that Daniel Defense manufactured their own parts. (major parts). Everyone buys the smaller items from su8bcontrators.

PSA is fine. If cost is a concern look at Spikes (quality is better). Friends of mine swear by them. I personally would lean towards BCM. With my experience in AR's I have always gone with LMT, BCM,RRA & Bushmaster with either parts or complete rifles. For triggers it is nothing but Geissele.

At the funshop I work at part-time we have had Delton complete rifles, which I also recommend for those wanting to save money. It all depends on what the customer / friend wants and what they want it to be able to do.

I have three BCMs but I had to buy the uppers and lowers separately from different vendors. The upper and lower matching is haphazard because they use different manufacturers for the uppers and lowers. They all do! It is how they put them together that counts. If you want hammer-forged barrels then look to BCM's and Daniel Defense offerings. I am curious about the PSA hammer-forged 410 SS barreled offerings though.
