Building this was lots of fun!
Zediker's book
The Competitive AR15: Builders Guide was extremely helpful. Step-by-step instructions on lower assembly, basic upper parts, and barrel installation were great. The best part though was the four different builds including discussion of component selection and details on installation. The Geisselle trigger came with great instructions, as did the Yankee Hill Machine free float tube, but Zediker's step-by-step helped a lot too.

YHM isn't making their fixed rear sight anytime real soon, so I ordered a DPMS unit. Then I discovered an alternative from LMT that has more elevation adjustment and looks much more solid. Bottom line: both are coming and I'll return the one I like less.
I haven't installed the red dot sight yet but wanted to post pics, so here it is minus rear sight and red dot:
I just finished it on Monday so it hasn't been to range yet but the weather forecast for this weekend looks good!
BTW the Magpul ACS-L stock fits nicely and locks up solid on the Vltor "A5" receiver extension tube. Comfortable cheekweld. 7 positions and length of pull from 11-3/4" to 15-1/4". I'd need longer arms for the full extension position...
Front sling mount needs to be moved all the way forward.
Finally,
THIS TOOL works like a champ for installing a barrel without putting any torque on the receiver, despite being a very tight fit in my upper receiver. Clamp your barrel nut tool in a vice, lower the barrel vertically through the barrel nut tool, apply torque wrench to the top of this thing, and job's done. (Brownells has a good video on how to use it that some of the reviewers obviously missed.)
