Does anyone know if there is such an animal as a carbine length barrel sleeve? I am sure you know what I am talking about the sleeve that is used to free float the standard round plastic grips just like the NM free float set up but shorter. I have looked on the net but can't find one. I am building this rifle carbine with an A2 upper and in the A2 config with a standard front sight base.

Just glancing at my catalogs, it seems Bushmaster,Daniel Defense, Troy, UTG (Leapers) and others make carbine length free-float handguards. If you're looking for just the handguards without the rails, I'd check with them as they offer both types (if I'm reading things right).

I'd also check with Brownell's, Midway and some of the other online gunsmithing sites.

Nope thats not what I am looking for. I am looking for a carbine length free float sleeve just like they use on the NM A2 rifles only in carbine length and will accept carbine length round plastic handguards.
